I was able to do a little printing the other day.
A few monoprints and two printings from previous carvings. It felt really good to do something. Grandma and Grandpa were visiting and they took the boys to the park for a bit. I did run out of paper though. What a shame to have to go to Utrecht's/Blick's and pick out some more! I love Revere papers-although I don't like watermarks on the bottom of my pages. I now have about twenty minutes to do something. Paint?!?!
Sent the ingredients to my Bead Soup Partner Terri today. The first picture is the teaser. I'll post the real deal when she gets her package. The second pic is my "sketch of the day" done on the box top that I stuffed the beads in. That was kind of fun. That might be a packaging idea. If I ever list anything in the shop again. Sigh... (I sigh alot) The boys dumped the water they were using with their paints this morning all over the table and carpet. I did have a vinyl cloth on thank goodness. But they were splashing about. My own fault I should have been there, but a mom has to grab her moments when she has the chance, and I needed to get this package boxed up. Hubby not answering my texts either so I had a little melt down. And of course the windows are open so I am sure the whole neighborhood thinks I am a horrible mom having a breakdown and in need of some time in a rubber room. Sigh..... See there?
All my completed endeavors for a cuckoo-clock themed cell phone cover. The one I haven't finished trimming out the camera hole. I tried to upload to a Vistaprint template, but it always presented with horrible resolution. So I don't know what to do about that. Back is killing me. And I am now sporting a lovely sinus infection or something. My voice is gone. Really frustrating to try and get control of two screaming three year olds with no voice. Who by the way thought it was a good idea to suck the juice out of their crayola markers. Sigh....
My monoprinting class started back up today. As usual by the time I get to class I am so "wound up" from trying to leave the house in the morning I couldn't think about how to begin. So I started scribbling with all my water solubles. A bird of course.
I am still struggling with my cuckoo clock composition. I have about ten starts that flopped somewhere along the line in production. Sigh.
I painted this with the brayer which is not easy to do by the way. But the thing I found exciting about this was the blue ink. I picked up a few safe wash relief inks to see how I would like them. I have been using Speedball. Well, I am love with the saturation and vibrancy of this blue ink. It is Aqua Wash Etching Ink in Ocean Blue by Charbonnel. The consistency is a little more pasty-paint-like as opposed to the fluid nature of the Speedball inks. Good news/Bad news. Good news I have to buy more art supplies! Bad news I have to my more art supplies.
Today's digitally painted bird via Procreate and edited in Picassa.
And this is the undedited version.
These are done with my finger on my tablet. I really would like to play with a stylus.
And here is the image for my new business cards. It is a print I made with a block I carved last month. Crossin my fingers that it turns out awesome!
When I grow up I want to be a working artist, but for now I am a mommy to beautiful twin boys and am married to the most wonderful man in the world.
